P’s Front Room
WELCOME! TAKE A SEAT MY LOVE. I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE.
My name is Halima
(Huh-lee-muh)
So, you want to know me? You want to get a sense of what it’s like to be in my space, in my aura, in my energy.
Well honey, over here I sing songs of hope, love, and freedom at the top of my lungs when I’m all alone. I dance by spinning in circles and jumping up and down with the biggest smile on my face. You can see all 32. I love life. I’m grateful for it, especially the small things.
Sarah Jakes Roberts calls the small things, threads of hope. Well, I’ve been collecting threads and making rope to walk on. I’ve used that rope to make bridges to carry me through oceans and swing over fires. Those threads of hope turned into ropes of faith and I’m walking on water.
I place my pain and my purpose into the palms of the Most High God. I devour food just like I do these poetic prophecies. I sleep and then I grind. I glow and I grow. I am sister, daughter, cousin, student, teacher, and friend. I am light. I am love. I am abundance.
Sometimes I’m in the streets raising my voice front and center and other times I’m behind the scenes. I rep that Aggie Pride all day and all night. Ghanaian Jollof is winning; go try some. Acts of service is my love language. I write, I speak, and sometimes it sounds like rap. My folks live by the countryside and that’s where I grew up eating homemade biscuits, collard greens, pork chops, and mac & cheese (mine is fire by the way).
I work hard. I play hard. I love even harder. Also, I’m a Pisces if you were wondering.
This is a glimpse of me. Halima Queena Opata- also known as Purpose, but you can call me P.
